Cake boards are used in bakeries to add to the presentation of the cakes and other bakery products. Cake boards are also readily available to the general public. There are different sizes and shapes of cake boards; they can be made to fit the dimensions of your cake. Cake boards are made of corrugated cardboard. They are sturdy enough to hold a cake but I wouldn’t recommend lifting a cake board by the sides, make sure to firmly support the cake board by holding it underneath. Cake boards are especially nice to have if you are throwing a party. They can also be used if you are baking a cake or other baked goods as a gift. Even though white cake boards are the most popular color for cake boards, there are also gold cake boards. Gold cake board can be a nice touch for a holiday cake or cookie platter. If you used cake boards to bake a cake as a gift for someone; it will make your cake appear more “professional”.

Cake Drums are the thickest and strongest of all the range measuring 12mm thick and are necessary for heavier cakes, like fruit or novelty cakes as well as tiered cakes.
Single thick cake boards or cards are about 3mm thick and are only suitable for lighter cakes and for separating each cake when creating a tiered display.
