Application:

Convert a Serial DB25 Male connector to a DB9 Male. Not very common anymore, this was mainly used on VERY old computers (Early to Mid 80's) that had 25 Pin Serial/RS232 Ports to a 9 Pin Serial port. There where some other uses as well, but I can't think of any offhand except maybe using a 9 pin cable to go to a serial device that has a 25 Pin Male connector (Some old plotters and modems).
