The stuffing sand is widely used in mold casting and continuous casting, being filled in ladle sliding gate, applied to make the molten steel automatically drained and tapped out from the slide gate. According to steel kinds and different requirements for free-opening ratio of ladle tapping, our stuffing sands are divided into two series, chromite-based and silicon-based. Chromite based stuffing sand is especially suitable for refining ladle. Its free opening rate is more than 95%. Through precise formulation design and advanced production technology, the free opening rate for silicon-based stuffing sand is more than 98%.
