Conventional Spray Dryer
General:
The conventional spray dryer is typically operated with a rotary atomizer or high-pressure nozzles for atomization of the concentrate. It is generally used for conventional food and dairy products. When the product leaves the drying chamber and the cyclone, it is collected in a pneumatic conveying and cooling system. This type of dryer is referred to as a one-stage spray dryer as the powder has its final moisture content when discharged from the chamber.
Many food & dairy products need to be dried this way, depending on their composition. But for products like milk and whey it is possible to perform the drying in two or more stages by replacing the pneumatic conveying and cooling system with a VIBRO-FLUIDIZER . designed for second-stage drying.
The conventional spray dryer can now be operated in such a way that the moisture content in the powder when it leaves the drying chamber has a higher moisture content than is desired in the final powder. This is done by atomizing more concentrate into the same amount of primary drying air, which will then be utilized much better. For final drying in the VIBRO-FLUIDIZER, a small amount of drying air at low temperature is needed. The overall energy consumption per kg of final powder is reduced by as much as 20 %.If the fines fraction from the cyclone and/or bag filter is returned to the atomization device, it is possible to produce agglomerated products instantly soluble in cold or warm water.
Principles:
High Speed Rotary Spray Dryer Series of GPL is gas-liquid cocurrent flow drying equipment, using high-speed centrifugal atomizer, the liquid will be atomized into fine droplets, then mix with the hot air from the distributor in the dryer, heat and mass transfer exchanges rapidly during the mixing process. In a very short period of time the liquid become dry powdered products. Production control and product quality control is convenient and reliable. It is widely used in the drying production of different types of liquids materials.
Product Characteristics:
¤ Different types of solution, suspension, emulsion and cream paste material can be dry for a one-time production.
¤The fog moment and fog droplet of spray-drying can be slightly adjusted.
¤ The hot air has been reasonable allocation, and the ceiling and walls sticky situation has been eliminated.
¤ It is suitable for the drying of thermosensitive and nonthermosensitive material at the same time. The product particles are smaller than pressure spray dryer.
¤ Simplify the production process, easy to use, good liquidity and instant of the product.
Application Examples:
• Inorganic:
aluminum nitride, zirconia, potassium fluoride, bentonite, kaolin, barium sulfate, lead sulfate, sodium aluminum, chromium oxide, titanium dioxide.
• PVC.
Macromolecule polymers: urea-formaldehyde resin, PVC.
• Dyes:
dispersol red FB, reactive dyes, etc.
• Chemical Agents:
silica dioxide, diatomite, sodium silicate, wood calcium, sodium ligninsulfonate, naphthalene series water reducer.
• Pesticide:
carbendazol chloride wettable power.
• Food and feed additives:
casein peptide phosphate, potassium sorbate, fish serum.
• Fertilizer:
potassium humate, sodium humate.
