It's not the higher filtrating rating, the better for filter; the β value means the good or bad of the filter.
β=filtration ratio, β value is the ratio of particles counts larger than a certain size (μm) in the oil before filtering and after filtering.
The higher the filtration ratio is, more particle counts are seized and intercepted by filter, and accordingly the filtration efficiency is much larger
βX=(n upstreamn=Xμm): (n downstream=Xμm)The "n" means the particle counts size =Xμm from the upstream and downstream of the filter.
E.g.: If the filter upstream has particle counts 100,000 pieces =10μm, the downstream has particle counts 1,000 pieces =10μm, so β10=100,000:1,000=100

When βX=2, filtration efficiency = 50,00%
When βX=20, filtration efficiency = 95,00%
When βX=75, filtration efficiency = 98,67%
When βX=100, filtration efficiency = 99,00%

When βX=1,000, filtration efficiency = 99,90%
