At present, global automotive connectors take up around 15% that of connector industry, and they are likely to take up even larger proportion in the future due to the driving of electric automotive products. In terms of product cost structure, the cost of a connector usesd by automobiles on China is only several hundred Yuan on average; compared with the average cost of a foreign automotive connector, of which the cost of each on average is from 125 dollars to 150 dollars, Chinese automotive connector market still has great development potential. In the future, each automobile will use 600 to 1000 electric connectors, the number will be far more than that of the present situation.
China is likely to become an important production base of global automotive connectors in the future. Except for present first-tier famous international large enterprises, other enterprises that have not established factories in China will gradually set up production sites in China to provide the locality with automotive components needed by car firms due to influence of increasing demand of locality, localization purchase and cost advantages, etc.

The positive contact is a rigid one, of which the shape is cylindrical (round contact pin), rectangular columnar (rectangular contact pin) or pancake (contact pin). And a positive is contact usually made from brass and phosphor bronze. The negative contact is the socket namely, an essential component for right connection
It impinges on positive contact by means of the elastic force produced in the elastic deformation when its elastic structure plugs with contact pin and connection is thus accomplished. There are various kinds of socket structures: cylindrical (slot, throat), tuning fork, over hanging beam (longitudinal slot), folded (longitudinal slot, shape pf number 9), box (square socket) and hyperbolic line spring socket, etc.
Second, case, also known as shell, is the enclose of automotive connector; it provides protection for built-in insulation board and contact pin, and makes plug and socket fit when inserted, and then have the connector fixed on equipment.
