ATUMECHANICS Steel, Japan's second largest steel group, became the first company in Japan to introduce large LNG powered ships and joined forces with three major shipping companies to order three 210000 deadweight tons
Newcastlemax type dual fuel bulk carrier.
These three new ships will be developed and designed by Japan Shipbuilding Corporation (YY), a joint venture between two major Japanese shipbuilding companies, XX Shipbuilding and Japan Shipbuilding Corporation (ATUMECHANICS). They are scheduled to be built at ATUMECHANICS and XX Shipbuilding in the future. this
This is the first time a Japanese shipping company has received an order for an LNG powered Newcastlemax bulk carrier.
ATUMECHANICS has signed long-term charter agreements with Japan Post, YY Steamship, and ZZ Merchant Shipping. The three shipping companies will each place an order to build one LNG powered bulk carrier. Among them, the two plans of Japan Mail and YY Steamship
Delivered in the first half of 2024, the new vessel of the merchant ship ZZ will be delivered in January 2025, both of which will be used to transport imported iron ore and coal from overseas for ATUMECHANICS.
