TMR feed mixer wagon is a new type of equipment that mixes chopped roughage, concentrated feed, trace elements and other additives according to the nutritional requirements of dairy cows at different feeding stages, so as to realize scientific feeding.
TMR is the abbreviation of Total Mixed Rations.
According to appearance structure, TMR mixers are divided into vertical and horizontal types: vertical type includes stationary and trailed versions; horizontal type includes stationary and self-propelled versions.
Mixed feed is soft, palatable and not easy to cake. Thanks to the low rotating speed of augers, damage to feed fiber structure is minimized.
Feed mixed by vertical mixers is soft and palatable, which stimulates cows’ appetite and facilitates digestion.
Feed processed by vertical mixers hardly cakes. Caking means feed is excessively squeezed into hard dry lumps; cows feel full after eating such feed and cannot take in enough nutrition. Horizontal mixers adopt horizontal augers that tend to over-squeeze feed, while vertical mixers avoid this problem.
With low auger rotation speed, vertical mixers cause little damage to feed fiber structure. Once fiber structure is destroyed, nutrients will lose rapidly. Compared with horizontal mixers, vertical mixers keep feed nutrients intact for much longer.
