Unlike pressure vessels (ASME VIII / GB150), it is designed mainly for liquid head, wind, seismic loads and foundation behavior under approximately atmospheric pressure (up to 2.5 psig internal pressure)

API 650 Cone Roof Storage Tank, ranging from 500m³ to 10000m³, is an aboveground, fully welded carbon steel tank designed for crude oil, diesel and water storage. Manufactured to API 650, API 12F and GB 50341, the tank features a self-supporting cone or dome roof, tapered shell courses and a supported bottom.


Key features:

- Carbon steel construction in Q235B / Q345R, stainless steel 304 / 316L available on request

- Fixed cone roof or dome roof, self-supporting, cost-effective for medium and large capacity

- Fully welded groove seams with low-hydrogen consumables

- Full NDT: RT (vertical seams 100%, horizontal seams ≥10%), UT thickness check, MT/PT for attachment welds

- Hydrostatic test to 1.25× design liquid height, hold 24-48 hours, settlement monitored

- Bottom seam vacuum box test for leak detection

- Anti-corrosion coating, blasting and cathodic protection

- Optional internal lining: epoxy, glass flake

- FOB Tianjin, seaworthy ocean freight packing, exported to Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Middle East, Africa and South America


Manufacturing process:

Material inspection & MTC verification → Plate cutting & rolling → Bottom assembly → Shell course welding → Cone roof fabrication → Nozzle, manway, ladder, catwalk, level gauge installation → WPS/PQR welding → Pre-heat for thick plates → NDT → Vacuum box test → Hydrostatic test → Blasting and painting → Outfitting & loading


Applications:

Oil depot tank farm, refinery inlet and product storage, power plant auxiliary oil storage, petrochemical and chemical bulk storage, fire water service, water and wastewater.
