CP (Commercially Pure) Grade 2 Pipe is the most frequently employed unalloyed titanium grade. It provides moderate strength (typical yield strength 352 MPa) combined with good ductility and formability and excellent weldability. Grade 2 titanium Pipe has a density of 4.51 g/cc - less than 60% that of steel.
Commercially Pure Titanium Pipe Grade 2 is slightly stronger than Grade 1 but equally corrosion resistant against most applications. This unalloyed titanium has the best strength to weight ratio of any corrosion resistant material. This grade is one of the most common Titanium Pipe Grades and is used for Heat exchangers, condenser tubing and bleaching plants in paper industry, offshore oil installation water pipe lines. Can be used for parts requiring strength up to 400 ° F and oxidation resistance to 600 ° F.

Grade 2 Titanium Pipe Physical Properties
Titanium Pipe grade 2 bars have a density of 4.51 g/cm3, about 60% of the density of steel. This makes ASTM B348 UNS R50400 Pipe an ideal material for lightweight applications. It also has a melting point of 1660°C and a boiling point of 3260°C, which means it can withstand high temperatures. DIN 3.7035 Pipes has a shiny metallic appearance and is non-magnetic, which makes Alloy Pipe Grade 2 useful in certain electronic and medical applications.

#1 - Hot rolled annealed and descaled. It is available in strip, foil and ribbon. It is used for applications where a smooth decorative finish is not required.
#2D - Dull finish produced by cold rolling, annealing and descaling. Used for deep drawn parts and those parts that need to retain lubricants in the forming process.
#2B - Smooth finish produced by cold rolling, annealing and descaling. A light cold rolling pass is added after anneal with polished rolls giving it a brighter finish than 2D.
#BA - Bright annealed cold rolled and bright annealed
#CBA - Course bright annealed cold rolled matte finish and bright anneal
#2 - Cold Rolled
#2BA- Smooth finish produced by cold rolling and bright annealing. A light pass using highly polished rolls produces a glossy finish. A 2BA finish may be used for lightly formed applications where a glossy finish is desired in the formed part.
Polished - Various grit finish for specific polish finished requirements.
Weldability - Fair
Forging - Rough 982°C (1800°F), finish 968°C (1775°F)
Annealing - 732°C (1350°F), 4hr, FC to 566°C (1050°F), A.C. F.C. not necessary for bars
Solution Heat Treating - Forgings
Aging - 904-954°C (1660-1750°F), 5 min-2hrs, W.Q. 538°C (1000°F), 4hr, A.C.
