1. Product Overview
Channel steel is long section steel with a grooved cross-section, a general load-bearing structural material widely used in construction and machinery. It is mainly produced by hot rolling, while a small number of specifications are processed by cold bending. Featuring stable cross-section, excellent bending resistance, convenient welding and drilling processing, it can be used alone or combined with I-beam, steel plate and round steel to build load-bearing frames. It is widely applied in factory steel structures, equipment bases, curtain wall keels, supports, bridge accessories, vehicle chassis, foundation pit support and other fields. We have sufficient stock of all channel steel specifications, support deep processing such as fixed-length cutting, galvanizing and sandblasting. Goods are shipped from Tianjin Port with a production lead time of 5-7 working days, meeting domestic engineering procurement and global foreign trade export orders.
2. Product Classification by Production Process
2.1 Hot Rolled Channel Steel (National Standard Mainstream)
Formed by high-temperature rolling, it has dense internal metal structure, strong bearing capacity and good toughness with standard dimensional accuracy and moderate cost, which is the preferred material for infrastructure and heavy industry projects. Covered with hot rolling black oxide scale, it can be directly painted or hot-dip galvanized for anti-corrosion treatment, covering full national standard models from No.5 to No.40.
2.2 Cold-Formed Thin-Wall Channel Steel
Formed by cold bending steel strips at room temperature, it features thin wall thickness, light self-weight, flat appearance and precise dimensional tolerance, mainly used for light steel structures, decorative keels, small equipment supports, storage racks and other light-load scenarios.
2.3 Hot-Dip Galvanized Channel Steel
Based on hot rolled black channel steel with overall hot-dip galvanizing treatment, it has uniform zinc layer with strong adhesion, excellent resistance to rain, acid and alkali corrosion, and long service life in outdoor and humid environments. It is suitable for municipal guardrails, photovoltaic supports, outdoor steel structures and water conservancy projects.
3. Main Material Grades
Q235B: General carbon steel with good toughness and weldability and high cost performance, the universal material for most civil buildings and ordinary equipment supports.
Q355B: High-strength low-alloy channel steel with greatly improved tensile, compressive and bending performance compared with Q235, lighter self-weight and stronger load capacity, suitable for large-span workshops, heavy equipment bases and bridge load-bearing structures.
20# / 45# High-quality carbon channel steel: High material purity, available for quenching and tempering heat treatment, used for high-strength stress supports of construction machinery and load-bearing components of special equipment.
4. Specification and Dimensional Parameters
National Standard Models: No.5, 6.3, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25, 28, 30, 32, 36, 40;
Standard Length: 6m, 9m, 12m, custom short-length cutting, non-standard precision cutting and chamfering are available;
Dimensional Tolerance: Height, leg width, web thickness and straightness strictly comply with national standards without lateral bending, distortion and burrs;
Surface Condition: Hot rolled black surface, cold drawn bright surface, hot-dip galvanized, sandblasted and painted finishes optional.
5. Core Product Performance
Excellent bending and load-bearing capacity: The grooved cross-section has reasonable mechanical structure with stable lateral and vertical bearing capacity and low deformation risk;
Superior machinability: Supports welding, cutting, drilling, bending and polishing without cracking during secondary processing;
Stable material performance: Pure molten steel with unified batch mechanical indicators, good seismic and impact resistance;
Complete anti-corrosion options: Raw black steel can be painted on site, while galvanized channel steel requires no regular maintenance, adaptable to indoor, outdoor and underground humid working conditions.
6. Implementation Standards
Hot rolled channel steel complies with GB/T 707, cold-formed channel steel complies with GB/T 6728, low-alloy materials follow GB/T 1591. It meets international standards including ASTM, JIS and EN. Factory material certificates, mechanical test reports and galvanized layer inspection reports can be provided for engineering acceptance and foreign trade customs clearance.
