1. Product Overview

Shipbuilding Steel Plate is structural steel plate exclusively for ship hull and offshore engineering structures. It is rolled with low-sulfur and low-phosphorus clean steel slabs, divided into normal strength, high strength and ultra-high strength series. It features excellent low-temperature impact toughness, seawater salt fog corrosion resistance, superior weldability and wave fatigue resistance. All plates are certified by international classification societies, complying with mandatory construction standards for ocean-going vessels and offshore platforms.

Production Process: Refined Steel Slab → Controlled Hot Rolling / TMCP Thermo-Mechanical Controlled Processing → Straightening & Cooling → Ultrasonic Inspection → Shot Blasting & Shop Primer Coating → Edge Cutting & Fixed Length → Marking, Bundling & Shipment

  • Z-Direction Performance: Z15/Z25/Z35 anti-lamellar tearing plate optional for key welding parts over 40mm thick

3.2 Dimensional & Inspection Precision

Strictly controlled thickness negative tolerance; flatness and camber meet classification society standards. 100% factory UT ultrasonic testing (Grade Ⅰ / Grade Ⅱ optional), free of internal lamination, slag inclusion and cracks.

4. Core Chemical Composition (Strict Impurity Control)

Uniform limit for all ship plates: S≤0.025%, P≤0.025% to reduce cold brittleness and welding crack risk. Trace Cu & Ni added to improve marine corrosion resistance; low-carbon design guarantees full-position welding performance.

5. Standard Mechanical Properties (Hot Rolled / TMCP Delivery Condition)

Grade Yield Strength ReL(MPa) Tensile Strength Rm(MPa) Elongation A ≥% V-Notch Impact KV2(J)
CCS A/B/D/E ≥235 400–520 21 ≥34 (at corresponding test temp)
AH32/DH32/EH32 ≥315 450–570 20 ≥34
AH36/DH36/EH36 ≥355 490–630 21 ≥34
AH40/DH40/EH40 ≥390 510–660 20 ≥41

Delivery condition: Hot rolled, TMCP thermo-mechanical controlled rolling, normalizing. Heat treatment delivery for thick plates and low-temperature service to stabilize toughness.

6. Optional Surface Treatments

  1. Hot Rolled Black Surface: Economical base type for internal non-exposed hull structures

  2. Shot Blasting + Shop Primer: Main export standard, removes oxide scale, complies with IMO PSPC ballast tank coating specification, short-term anti-rust for sea transit

  3. Reinforced Anti-Rust Primer: For long-distance ocean shipping and outdoor storage, extended anti-corrosion service life

7. Core Product Advantages

  1. Stable Low-Temperature Toughness: Graded impact grades cover 0℃~-60℃, resisting low-temperature brittle fracture in polar and northern sea areas

  2. Superior Marine Corrosion Resistance: Low impurity & corrosion-resistant micro-alloy formula, long-term resistance to seawater, salt fog and cabin moisture erosion

  3. Excellent Weldability: Low carbon equivalent, compatible with SAW, GMAW, MMAW and other mainstream ship welding processes, welds free of pores and cracks

  4. Strong Fatigue & Load-Bearing Capacity: Uniform stable mechanical properties, resisting continuous wave impact and cargo extrusion to avoid deformation of keels and bottom plates
