1. Product Overview
The Spiral Chute (also known as a Spiral Gravity Separator) is a modern, high-capacity gravity concentration device widely used in the mineral processing industry. It combines the advantages of a spiral concentrator, spiral chute, shaking table, and centrifugal separator into a single, compact unit. Designed for the separation of fine-grained minerals (typically ranging from 0.02 mm to 0.3 mm), it utilizes gravity and centrifugal force to achieve highly efficient separation of heavy minerals from light gangue materials.
It is an essential piece of equipment for beneficiation plants looking for a low-energy, high-recovery, and environmentally friendly solution.
2. Working Principle
The working principle of the spiral chute is based on the specific gravity differences between minerals.
Feeding: A pulp mixture (ore and water) is fed onto the top of the spiral trough.
Gravity & Centrifugal Force: As the slurry flows down the spiral track, two forces act upon the particles: centrifugal force (pushing particles outward) and gravity (pulling particles down).
Stratification: Heavier minerals (e.g., Gold, Iron, Tungsten) settle to the bottom of the flow closer to the inner side of the spiral due to their higher density. Lighter minerals (gangue) remain suspended and move toward the outer edge.
Separation: Intercepting ports located at the bottom of the spiral collect the concentrated heavy minerals, while the tailings flow out separately at the discharge end.

5. Application Scope
The spiral chute is versatile and suitable for the treatment of various metal and non-metal minerals, including:

Installation:
The unit must be installed on a stable foundation. Use a level to ensure the spiral is perfectly vertical. Connect the feed pipe and discharge outlets according to the flow diagram.
Maintenance:
Due to the absence of moving parts, maintenance is minimal. Routine checks should include:
Inspecting the surface of the spiral trough for excessive wear.
Ensuring the feed distributor is not clogged.
Checking the intercepting ports for blockages to ensure smooth flow.
