Scope of Application
Pretreatment for sand and impurity removal in water treatment systems: river water, well water for irrigation, deep water and boiler feed water.
Reuse of coal washing water in steel plants and power plants.
Pretreatment upstream of cartridge filters, reverse osmosis and other precision filtration equipment.
Brief Introduction
The fully automatic Y-type brush filter is upgraded on the basis of hand-operated brush filter. The internal brush assembly consists of hog bristle brushes (compared with nylon brushes, hog bristle brushes feature higher strength, superior temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and anti-aging performance) or stainless steel brushes and other stainless steel components. The assembly passes through the filter cover, and the brush unit is installed inside the stainless steel screen. A driving motor mounted outside the cover drives the brush assembly to rotate. Periodic activation of the motor scrubs particulate impurities off the screen and discharges them via the blowdown outlet. Water flow remains continuous during cleaning; no shutdown or disassembly of the filter is required for screen maintenance. The housing is made of high-quality carbon steel.
The Y-type brush self-cleaning filter is suitable for wastewater treatment, slag flushing water in steel plants, process water and cooling water for power plants, papermaking process water and intake treatment, chemical production processes and irrigation systems. It removes hard particles ranging from 80 μm to 3500 μm in water to guarantee stable and reliable system operation.
Filtration Stage: Medium flows into the Y-type housing through the inlet. Impurities are trapped on the inner wall of the wedge wire screen while purified medium passes through the screen and flows out from the outlet.Self-cleaning Trigger: When the differential pressure across the screen reaches the preset value (normally 0.04–0.06 MPa) or the scheduled cleaning time arrives, the electric control box automatically activates the cleaning program.Cleaning & Blowdown Stage: The motor drives the built-in stainless steel brush to rotate and strip impurities from the screen. The blowdown valve opens synchronously, and trapped contaminants are discharged together with partial medium flow.Return to Filtration: After cleaning completes, the motor stops and the blowdown valve closes. The filter automatically resumes normal filtration with uninterrupted medium flow throughout the whole cycle.
Working Principle
The Y-type automatic brush self-cleaning filter initiates the self-cleaning cycle when the differential pressure between inlet and outlet reaches the preset value, or the scheduled cleaning time arrives, or manual activation is triggered. The self-cleaning process consists of two steps: opening the automatic blowdown valve installed on the filter; the motor drives the cleaning system (cleaning brush or scanning suction nozzle) inside the screen to strip trapped impurities, which are then discharged through the blowdown valve. The whole cleaning cycle lasts approximately 15 seconds (adjustable according to customer requirements). The medium flow remains uninterrupted during cleaning. The complete operation of the self-cleaning filter is managed by the supplied intelligent control box. Optional control modes include differential pressure, timing, manual and PLC control.
Capable of online automatic cleaning and automatic blowdown, the Y-type automatic brush self-cleaning filter supports differential pressure, timing and manual operation. It boasts advantages of high filtration accuracy, short cleaning duration, low blowdown water consumption and low pressure loss, delivering stable water quality protection for water treatment systems.
Equipment Features
Easy installation: It can directly replace conventional Y-type filters or manual Y-type brush filters without modifying the original pipeline. Wide adaptability: Suitable for installation on both horizontal and vertical pipelines. Flow rate of single unit: 25 ~ 1200 t/h; multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase throughput. Operating pressure: 0.2 ~ 1.6 MPa; higher pressure rating is available upon customization. Control modes: Differential pressure / Timing / Manual. Cleaning duration: Adjustable from 60 s to 2 hours. Pressure loss: 0.01 ~ 0.03 MPa. Power supply: 3-phase 380 V / 220 V and single-phase 220 V are optional.
