Application Scope:
Pre-treatment for sand and impurity removal in water treatment systems, including river water, well water irrigation, deep water, boiler feed water and other media.
Reuse of coal washing water in steel plants and power plants.
Pre-filtration ahead of cartridge security filters, reverse osmosis and other precision filtration equipment.
Brief Introduction：
The automatic Y-type brush filter is improved on the basis of the manual brush filter developed by our company. The internal brush assembly consists of natural bristle brushes (featuring higher strength, superior high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and anti-aging performance compared with nylon brushes) or stainless steel brushes and other stainless steel components. The assembly passes through the filter cover, and the brush unit is installed inside the stainless steel screen. A driving motor is mounted outside the filter cover to rotate the brush body. Periodic motor operation scrubs fine and coarse impurities off the screen and discharges them via the blowdown outlet. Water flow remains uninterrupted during brushing; there is no need to shut down or disassemble the filter for screen cleaning. The housing is made of high-quality carbon steel.
The Y-type brush self-cleaning filter is applicable to wastewater treatment processes, slag flushing water in steel plants, process water and cooling water for power plants, papermaking processes and inlet water treatment, chemical production processes, irrigation systems and other applications. It removes various hard particles with particle sizes ranging from 80 μm to 3500 μm in water to ensure safe and reliable system operation.
Filtration Stage: Water enters the Y-shaped housing from the inlet. As it passes through the wedge wire screen, impurities are trapped on the inner wall of the screen, and clean water permeates the screen and flows out through the outlet.
Self-cleaning Trigger: When the differential pressure between the inlet and outlet of the screen reaches the preset value (normally 0.04–0.06 MPa) or the preset cleaning time expires, the electric control box automatically activates the cleaning program.
Cleaning & Blowdown Stage: The motor drives the built-in stainless steel brush to rotate and brush off impurities on the screen. Meanwhile, the blowdown valve opens, and impurities are discharged through the blowdown outlet along with partial water flow.
Return to Filtration: Upon completion of cleaning, the motor stops rotating, the blowdown valve closes, and the filter automatically resumes normal filtration. Water flow is not interrupted throughout the whole process.
Working Principle：
The Y-type fully automatic brush self-cleaning filter initiates the self-cleaning cycle when the differential pressure between the filter inlet and outlet reaches the preset value, or the set cleaning time expires, or manual cleaning is activated. The self-cleaning process consists of two steps: opening the automatic blowdown valve mounted on the self-cleaning filter; the motor drives the cleaning system (cleaning brush or scanning suction nozzle) inside the filter screen, and impurities intercepted by the screen are discharged via the blowdown valve. The whole cleaning cycle takes approximately 15 seconds (adjustable according to customer requirements). The system maintains uninterrupted flow during cleaning. The overall operation of the self-cleaning filter is controlled by a supplied intelligent control box. Optional control modes include differential pressure, timing, manual operation and PLC control.
The Y-type fully automatic brush self-cleaning filter supports online automatic cleaning and automatic blowdown. It is equipped with three operation modes: differential pressure control, timing control and manual control. Featuring high filtration precision, short cleaning cycle, low water consumption for cleaning and low pressure loss, it provides stable water quality guarantee for your water system.
