Product description:
The jaws are boxed welded plate with rectangular windows cut through, each opening bounded by ribs and a folded rim. Taking plate out of the middle keeps weight down while the rim and rib carry the section around the aperture, so the jaw does not go soft where the window is.
The tine ends are blunt and rounded, with no teeth and no bolt-on points anywhere on the jaws. On a grapple the tip is there to hold and to crush, not to penetrate, and there is nothing to snag or snap off in the material.
One large-bore cylinder lies across the top of the frame between the mounting ears, with its inner end landing on a round flanged boss carrying a short circle of fasteners. Sitting high and between the ears keeps the cylinder out of the material stream.
The cylinder's reaction goes into that flanged boss rather than being spread along a welded bracket, so torque checks and wear inspection happen at one defined circle of fasteners. It is the kind of joint you can re-torque with the attachment still on the machine.
