Product Description:
Uses:
Thiocyclam is a selective insecticide with stomach poison, contact, and systemic action (including acropetal translocation). It provides 7–14 days of residual control against Lepidoptera and Coleoptera pests and is also effective against parasitic nematodes such as the rice white-tip nematode; it also offers some control against rust and white-head diseases in certain crops. It controls pests such as the yellow stem borer, rice leaf folder, striped rice borer, rice thrips, leafhoppers, rice gall midge, planthoppers, peach aphids, apple aphids, apple red spiders, pear leaf-rolling moths, citrus leaf miners, and various vegetable pests.
As a nereistoxin-analogue insecticide, thiocyclam acts via contact, ingestion, and systemic absorption by blocking synaptic transmission in the nervous system. It is primarily used to control pests of the orders Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, and Hemiptera (such as rice borers, leafhoppers, and planthoppers). It is suitable for use on crops including rice, vegetables, and fruit trees; however, it should not be used on certain varieties of cotton, apples, or legumes, as they are sensitive to the chemical. [4] It is highly toxic to silkworms, so caution is required in sericulture areas; it should not be mixed with alkaline substances, and safety intervals and residue standards must be observed.
