In 35kV and 110kV overhead transmission lines, insulators shoulder the dual mission of electrical insulation and mechanical connection. Since the lines are exposed to outdoor environments for a long time, lightning overvoltage, power-frequency switching overvoltage, industrial pollution, coastal salt spray, temperature variations, conductor tension, and wind vibration impose combined challenges on insulators. If traditional porcelain insulators have improper formulations or unstable manufacturing processes, problems such as glaze damage, shed cracks, internal insulation breakdown, pollution flashover, steel-leg corrosion, and cracking of cement assembly are likely to occur, which in severe cases can lead to conductor drop accidents and large-scale power outages.

Product Mechanism and Structural Characteristics
Disc suspension porcelain insulators are composed of an iron cap, porcelain body, steel leg, and cement adhesive. In use, multiple insulators are connected in series and suspended between the tower crossarm and the conductor. By utilizing the high insulation resistance of the porcelain and the disc-shaped sheds to increase creepage distance, the line can maintain sufficient insulation level under normal operation, switching overvoltage, and lightning overvoltage conditions. The ball-and-socket or clevis-type connection of each insulator allows a certain range of relative movement, which can absorb dynamic bending moments caused by conductor wind vibration and thermal deformation, preventing the porcelain body from damage due to abnormal stress.
This product is made of high-strength electrical ceramics. The porcelain body is coated with a stable porcelain glaze, providing good pollution-flashover resistance and weather-aging resistance. The iron cap and steel leg adopt metal parts with hot-dip galvanized surface treatment, and the cementing parts use special cement and curing processes to ensure tight assembly and uniform stress distribution. Before leaving the factory, each product is inspected for appearance, dimensions, zinc layer, and cementing quality, and batch sampling tests for electromechanical load and power-frequency withstand voltage are conducted to prevent non-conforming products from entering the line.
