This prepainted galvanized coil starts with SGCC grade hot-dip galvanized steel. The base material is coated with a zinc layer at a nominal coating weight of Z140, which means approximately 140 grams of zinc per square meter on the coated surface. The prepainted finish uses a PE (polyester) topcoat with an interior/exterior paint system, primer undercoating and a protective film option. The film thickness, gloss level and hardness are carefully controlled in production to deliver a stable product for cut-to-length sheets, roll forming lines, stamping operations and steel sandwich panel manufacturers.

Every Color Coated Galvanized Coil is produced in an organized workflow that starts with the incoming galvanized substrate inspection, followed by surface cleaning, pretreatment, primer coating, topcoat application, curing, cooling, final inspection and packing. Key parameters such as paint thickness, hardness, gloss and adhesion are checked according to internal control plans. 1. What is the difference between galvanized steel coil and PPGI coil?
Galvanized steel coil has a zinc coating on the steel surface for corrosion protection. PPGI, which means prepainted galvanized iron, goes through an additional painting process where a primer and topcoat are applied on top of the galvanized surface. This product is a PPGI coil because it uses a SGCC galvanized base plus a PE topcoat.
2. What does Z140 mean in the product title?
Z140 is a common zinc coating designation. It indicates the nominal weight of the zinc coating on the galvanized substrate, generally understood as 140 grams per square meter. A heavier zinc coating usually provides better corrosion resistance, while Z140 is a practical choice for many architectural and industrial applications.
3. Can this coil be bent and roll formed?
Yes. The medium hardness specification is selected to provide a good balance between strength and formability. It is suitable for roll forming into roofing panels, wall profiles, simple bends, punching and stamping. As with all painted steel, the bend radius and tooling condition should be considered to avoid cracking the paint layer.
4. Is the PE coating suitable for outdoor use?
PE (polyester) coating provides good general weather resistance and is widely used for roof sheets, wall cladding and structural panels in normal atmospheric environments. 5. What colors and gloss levels are available?
Colors can be selected from RAL, BS or a customer supplied color code. Gloss level for this specification is 20-25, but other gloss ranges can be discussed. For the most accurate color matching, we recommend ordering a physical sample or quoting your recognized color code.
6. Can the width and inner diameter be customized?
Yes. The standard range is typically 600-1250 mm in width, and the coil inner diameter can be supplied as 508 mm or 610 mm, among other options. Slitting and custom widths are available upon request, and the packing can be arranged to suit container loading and local handling equipment.
7. What is the delivery time and shipping method?
Delivery time depends on the order quantity, color availability and whether special coatings or widths are required. For standard specifications, production and loading can usually be arranged quickly. Shipment is made from Qingdao Port by sea, rail or combined transport according to the destination and customer preference.
8. Can we receive a sample before placing a large order?
