Low Temperature Freeze Crystallization System for Lithium Battery Wastewater Resource Recovery
Product Spotlights
Freeze Crystallization System | Advanced Low-Temperature Separation & Purification Technology
Product Overview
A Freeze Crystallization System is an advanced separation technology that purifies liquids by exploiting the principle that impurities are naturally excluded when a solvent freezes. Unlike conventional thermal evaporation, freeze crystallization operates at low temperatures — making it the ideal solution for processing heat-sensitive, volatile, or thermally unstable materials that cannot withstand high-temperature processing.
How Freeze Crystallization Works
The process follows three simple steps:
Controlled Cooling – The feed liquid is chilled below its freezing point, causing pure solvent crystals to form while impurities remain concentrated in the remaining liquid phase.
Crystal Separation – The pure crystals are separated from the concentrated impurity stream (mother liquor) using advanced wash columns or centrifugal separation.
Melting & Recovery – The purified crystals are melted, yielding a high-purity product, while the concentrated mother liquor is discharged for further treatment or recovery.
Because no phase change from liquid to vapor is required, energy consumption is dramatically lower than evaporation-based processes — freezing requires only about one-seventh of the latent heat of evaporation.
Key Advantages
Exceptional product quality – Gentle, low-temperature processing preserves the integrity of heat-sensitive compounds.
Outstanding energy efficiency – Significantly lower energy demand than distillation or evaporation.
High purification capability – Capable of achieving very high product purity in a single or few stages.
No solvent loss – Volatile components remain in the liquid phase, eliminating vapor losses.
Scalable design – From pilot units to large industrial installations.
Low operating temperature – Reduced corrosion rates and safer operation with flammable materials.
Typical Applications
Freeze crystallization systems are widely applied across industries:
Chemical processing – Purification of acids, bases, and specialty chemicals
Food & beverage – Concentration of fruit juices, coffee, and dairy products without thermal damage
Pharmaceuticals – Recovery and purification of APIs and intermediates
Wastewater treatment – Concentration of high-salinity brines and zero liquid discharge systems
Desalination – Low-energy production of fresh water from seawater or brackish water
Petrochemicals – Dewaxing and purification of lubricants and fuels
