1. Product Overview

Oil pipes refer to seamless steel pipes specially used for oil and gas drilling, extraction, gathering and transportation, mainly divided into tubing, casing and line pipe. They are produced by carbon steel and low alloy steel with strict sulfur and phosphorus control, featuring high collapse resistance, tensile strength, anti-sulfide corrosion and air tightness. The products comply with API international petroleum industry standards, and are essential pressure-bearing pipes for onshore and offshore oil & gas exploitation.

2. Product Classification

2.1 By Service Purpose

  1. Oil Casing Run into wellbore to support the wall of oil and gas wells, isolate different formation layers, prevent well wall collapse and fluid cross-channeling. Cover surface casing, intermediate casing and production casing.

  2. Oil Tubing Small-diameter pipe inside casing, for conveying crude oil and natural gas from underground to ground, also used for injecting water, gas and chemical agents into oil wells.

  3. Drill Pipe Connect drill bit and drilling rig, transmit torque and circulation of drilling fluid during drilling operation.

  4. Oil Line Pipe For long-distance transmission of oil, natural gas and produced water on the surface.

2.2 By Steel Grade & Alloy Series

  • Carbon steel oil pipe: J55, K55

  • Low alloy high strength oil pipe: N80, L80, C90, T95, P110, Q125

  • Anti-H2S corrosion sulfur-resistant oil pipe: L80-1, C90-1, T95-1

5. Production Process

Round steel billet inspection → Heating → Piercing → Hot rolling sizing → Heat treatment (Quenched & Tempered) → Straightening → NDT inspection → Thread machining → Thread anti-corrosion coating → Hydrostatic pressure test → Marking & bundling shipment

6. Delivery Status & Surface Protection

  1. Heat Treatment Condition All high-grade oil casing & tubing adopt quenching + tempering to reach specified yield strength, impact toughness and collapse resistance.

  2. Surface Treatment

  • Standard: Black hot rolled surface with anti-rust oil

  • Optional: Phosphating, special anti-sulfur protective coating for corrosive wells

  • Thread surface: Copper plating / manganese phosphate anti-sticking treatment

All pipes pass 100% inspection with official MTR test report:

  1. Chemical composition test: Strict control of S, P, Mn, Cr, Mo alloy elements

  2. Mechanical performance: Yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, full-size Charpy impact test, hardness test

  3. Ultrasonic & magnetic particle NDT to detect internal and surface defects

  4. Full-length hydrostatic pressure test according to API standard without leakage

  5. Thread parameter inspection: Thread gauge detection for pitch, taper, standoff

  6. Sulfide stress cracking test for sulfur-resistant grade pipes

  2. Marking: Laser print API grade, OD, weight, length, heat number, thread type, manufacturer logo on pipe body

  3. Lead Time: Regular API stock goods deliver within 5–7 days; customized premium thread, sulfur-resistant special steel grades 10–20 days; delivery from Tianjin Port for export

  4. Payment Terms: 30% TT deposit, balance against BL copy; LC payment not acceptable

11. Selection Tips

  1. Shallow conventional oil wells: Choose J55 / K55 low-cost casing tubing

  2. Medium-deep high-pressure wells: N80, L80 conventional high-strength oil pipes

  3. Deep ultra-high pressure wells: P110, Q125 ultra-high strength casing

  4. Sour gas wells containing H₂S: Must select anti-corrosion grades L80-1, T95-1 with anti-sulfur certification
