Gas Fired Coal Dryer With Low Emissions
Gas Fired Coal Dryer with Low Emissions
1. Introduction
A gas fired coal dryer with low emissions is an eco-friendly thermal drying system that uses natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), or industrial coal gas as its heat source. Engineered to satisfy stringent environmental standards, it integrates high-efficiency gas burners with advanced dust collection and gas-scrubbing systems. This dryer enables high-volume coal dewatering while drastically reducing carbon, sulfur, and particulate emissions.
2. Working Principle
The system operates through clean gas combustion and convective heat exchange:
Low-Emission Combustion: Clean gas fuel is burned in a low-$\text{NO}_x$ burner to generate a stable stream of clean, high-temperature combustion gas.
Thermal Convective Drying: Wet coal enters the rotating drum, where internal lifters shower it continuously through the hot gas stream, evaporating surface moisture rapidly.
Multi-Stage Exhaust Cleaning: Moisture-laden exhaust gas passes through a multi-stage cleaning system—typically combining cyclone separators, baghouse dust collectors, and wet scrubbers—to capture fine coal dust and neutralize trace gases before release.
3. Key Advantages
Low Environmental Impact: Uses clean gaseous fuel to minimize $\text{SO}_2$, $\text{NO}_x$, soot, and particulate matter ($\text{PM}$) emissions, ensuring compliance with strict environmental regulations.
High Thermal & Combustion Efficiency: Gas burners offer near-complete fuel combustion and rapid thermal response, reducing overall fuel consumption per ton of dried coal.
Clean & Uniform Product: Eliminates ash or unburned residue contamination from solid fuels, preserving the original quality and purity of the clean coal.
Precise Temperature Regulation: Modern gas burners permit fast, automated flame adjustment, optimizing heat input based on moisture levels and protecting coal from overheating.
4. Applications
Eco-Sensitive Coal Processing Plants: Dewatering washed coal and flotation concentrates near urban areas or strict environmental control zones.
Industrial Boiler Feed Preparation: Pre-drying high-moisture coal to boost firing efficiency and maintain low plant emissions.
Lignite & Sub-Bituminous Upgrading: Safely drying low-rank coals with precise thermal management and low emission profiles.
Briquetting & Coking Facilities: Preparing clean, low-moisture coal blends with strict environmental and product-purity targets.
