Industry Pain Points and Company Solutions
In power transmission and distribution lines, guy insulators play a critical role in isolating guy wires from towers, preventing current leakage, and ensuring personal safety. Traditional single-material guy insulators often face the following challenges: porcelain insulators, though aging-resistant, are brittle and fragile, resulting in high loss rates during transportation and installation; glass insulators require timely replacement after self-explosion, increasing maintenance costs; composite insulators vary in weather resistance, and inferior products are prone to aging and cracking. Hejian Haokang Electric Co., Ltd. deeply understands the practical pain points of line operation and maintenance units. Relying on years of experience in insulator production, we have integrated guy insulator series in three materials—porcelain, glass, and composite—to provide customers with tailored combination solutions based on local conditions. From raw material screening to kiln firing, from glass tempering to core rod injection, our factory implements batch traceability and mechanical tensile sampling inspection throughout the entire process, ensuring that every insulator can withstand long-term environmental and mechanical stress in actual service.

Product Working Mechanism and Detailed Features
The guy insulator is connected in series in the guy wire. Its metal fittings and insulating parts are integrated by cementing or mechanical locking, allowing it to withstand the tensile load transmitted by the guy wire while blocking current. Depending on different line voltage levels, our factory offers the following three mainstream material series:

  • Porcelain Guy Insulator: Made of high-strength alumina porcelain, fired at temperatures above 1250°C, the porcelain body is dense and free of pores, resistant to contamination and UV aging, suitable for heavily polluted areas or high-temperature, high-humidity environments. Typical model JH10-90, mechanical tensile load ≥90kN, creepage distance 450mm.
  • Tempered Glass Guy Insulator: Uses tempered glass components with surface compressive stress >120MPa. After self-explosion, the fragments are small diamond-shaped pieces, making it easy for patrol personnel to visually identify hidden damage; it also features zero-value self-explosion, eliminating insulation failure, and is suitable for transmission lines requiring rapid fault location.
  • Composite Guy Insulator: The core rod is made of epoxy glass-fiber reinforced material, and the shed is made of high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber. The overall weight is only 1/3 of that of a ceramic product of the same class, and it has excellent hydrophobicity, effectively suppressing pollution flashover. Our composite series has passed a 1080h salt-spray aging test, and the tracking resistance performance reaches TMA 4.5 level.

FAQ

  1. How to choose the material for tension insulators?
Ceramic is suitable for heavily polluted environments with strong sunlight, offering long service life but relatively heavy; glass is suitable for lines where self-shattering aids patrol inspection, making maintenance straightforward; composite insulators are lightweight, have good anti-pollution flashover performance, and are suitable for mountainous areas with difficult transportation and high-altitude regions. It is recommended to comprehensively evaluate based on site conditions and maintenance habits.
  2. What is the rated voltage range of the products?
Hejian Haokang Electric Co., Ltd.'s tension insulators are typically used for 10kV to 110kV lines, and special designs can extend this to 220kV. The rated voltage depends on creepage distance and structural height. For specific matching, please consult technical personnel.
  3. Will the core rod of composite insulators suffer brittle fracture?
Standard composite core rods use acid-resistant fiberglass, and Hejian Haokang Electric Co., Ltd. performs boiling water tests and radial compression tests on the core rods to ensure no brittle fracture under long-term stress. It is recommended to avoid sharp objects pressing against the core rod during transportation.
  4. How to confirm whether the insulator reaches the rated tensile force?
Each batch of products is accompanied by tensile test records. Customers may also take samples and send them to a third party for retesting after arrival. We recommend using a tension gauge to inspect each insulator before installation. Hejian Haokang Electric Co., Ltd. provides reference values for the upper limit of tensile load.
  5. Are the products suitable for cold regions?
Ceramic and glass have excellent low-temperature resistance (with an operating range of -40°C to +40°C). The sheds of composite insulators remain flexible at low temperatures. However, under icing conditions, it is necessary to avoid ice icicles bridging and reducing the creepage distance; auxiliary sheds can be used in conjunction.
  6. Is there a minimum order quantity for wholesale purchases?
For ceramic and glass, a minimum order of 300 pieces per batch is recommended to enjoy the best price. For composite insulators, due to high mold versatility, the minimum order is 200 pieces. For first-time cooperation, small-batch trial orders (within 50 pieces) are supported to verify product quality.
  7. How to handle product surface contamination?
Ceramic and glass can be wiped with clean water or neutral detergent. Use of steel wool is strictly prohibited. For composite insulators, use a cloth dampened with water to gently wipe, avoiding scratches on the sheds. All Hejian Haokang Electric Co., Ltd. products have passed the 1A/min salt spray pollution resistance test, and daily rainwater can achieve self-cleaning.
  8. How to claim compensation for transport damage?
The outer packaging must be inspected on site. If there is damage, please take photos and contact customer service. After confirmation, we will resend the goods in the next order or issue a proportional refund. It is recommended to purchase freight insurance for large orders, and we can assist in coordinating with logistics.
