Product Overview
316L is a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel with a maximum carbon content of 0.03%. This low carbon level prevents sensitization during welding and any subsequent intergranular attack, making the plate particularly suitable for heavy-section welded components. The alloy’s typical composition includes 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, which together deliver outstanding resistance to chlorides, industrial acids, and marine atmospheres.
