Standard safety cabinets are designed for fire resistance, but their paint can fail when exposed to corrosive vapors. Over time, acids can cause rust and structural weakening of the steel. The EWUI4 solves this by using a specialized chemical-resistant epoxy finish and offering optional protective liners, specifically designed to withstand the unique challenges of a Research Institute or Testing Lab.

1. Anti-Corrosive Epoxy Powder Finish
The most significant difference in the EWUI4 is its skin. We use a high-performance, lead-free blue epoxy powder coat that is baked on at high temperatures. This coating provides a superior barrier against "off-gassing" from weak acids and saline solutions, preventing the surface from bubbling or peeling—a common issue with standard industrial paints in lab settings.
2. The PE Liner Advantage (Optional Accessory)
For laboratories handling chemicals that might drip or leak during dispensing, we offer Polyethylene (PE) liners for the shelves and the bottom sump. These liners are non-reactive and act as a "sacrificial layer." If a bottle of weak acid leaks, the liquid sits on the PE tray rather than contacting the steel, making cleanup easy and extending the cabinet’s lifespan indefinitely.
3. Strategic Chemical Segregation
Safety inspectors in Europe and North America look for the "Blue Cabinet" to ensure that corrosives are not stored with flammables. Vapor containment is as important as liquid containment. The EWUI4 features our signature 3-point interlock system, ensuring the doors close flush against the frame. This reduces the amount of corrosive vapor that escapes into the laboratory air, protecting both your staff’s health and the longevity of other metal equipment in the room.
Strict Storage Warning: Know Your Chemicals
The EWUI4 is designed for weak corrosives (such as acetic acid, salt solutions, and some oxidizers).
Warning: It is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to store strong acids (like concentrated Hydrochloric or Nitric acid) or strong bases in this steel cabinet. For highly aggressive chemicals, you must use our Full Polypropylene (PP) Cabinets.

Q1: Why is the cabinet blue instead of yellow?
A: According to international safety conventions, Yellow is for flammables and Blue is for corrosives. This color-coding allows emergency responders and lab staff to identify the hazards inside instantly from a distance.
Q2: Can I store flammable liquids in this blue cabinet?
A: No. While the cabinet is fire-resistant, storing flammables in a corrosive cabinet is a major safety violation. Acids can react with flammable vapors or containers. Always keep your chemicals segregated by their hazard class.
Q3: Does the cabinet come with the PE liner trays as standard?
A: The standard EWUI4 comes with galvanized steel shelves. However, for use in Research Institutes, we highly recommend adding the PE Liner Option at the time of order to provide maximum protection against chemical drips.
