XZFT Attachments excavator trench bucket:
1. The teeth are what let a four hundred millimetre bucket work in ground that a plain edged bucket cannot open, so the narrow cut can be taken through compacted or stony material.
2. Narrow and deep is the whole shape: the width is set by the service trench, and the depth of the body is what lets the bucket reach pipe level on a twenty tonne class machine.
3. A cutter plate is fitted along the leading edge of the side plate, on the line that rubs the trench wall, so wear is taken there before it reaches the side plate itself.
4. The pin bosses at the head are tied down into the shell with gussets, so the digging load taken by the teeth passes back through both ears and into the body.
5. There is nothing on the bucket to plumb in, no cylinders and no hoses, so it pins to the linkage and works; the parts to watch are the teeth and the edge behind them.
